Yesterday was the last day of school

… and I visited ACS(I) band at their camp with Alex and Teow. There were the batch-mates, seniors, and section to talk with, and the street soccer court to abuse. From what I heard firsthand yesterday, the IB band is improving steadily, and looks on course for a good result at SYF. I, sadly, can’t say the exact same about the main band, which has less than three weeks to competition. I like pie.

I miss the street soccer court real bad. Already. Good times I had playing there with classmates, bandmates, friends, random people and whatnot…. I like pie.

blah blah birthday!

Today’s birthday bash at Sancia’s (happy 17th birthday in two days!) was good good fun. There were drinks (of both the clean and alcoholic sorts), cards, darts and people to talk crap with, which generally made for a lively atmosphere.

So first, Bryant, Audrey and I went to Felice’s place to bake. The first batch of cookies came out burnt to less than a crisp – the second and all after, though, turned out excellent, courtesy of the elite baking skills of yours truly. The whole baking process (as well as many moments of unproductivity) made us arrive at Sancia’s house at something like six-thirty, which was much later than expected. Still, it did nothing to take away from the fun. Melvin turned up shortly after us – good thing too. It’s always good to have someone to rag at parties.

I like my OG. Really. This party was just one more excuse to add to our supremely vast collection of group photos. That, and an opportunity to just chill in a.. home environment? :)

fun stuff for a change

Tuesday’s hockey practice was the most fun one so far. It was held at the NIE instead of the usual CCAB, so our practice proper started at seven. There were two highlights of the training session: one, the incredibly stupid things that some of us did during warm-up runs (jumping as we changed directions being one of those things) and two, the first ever match among the J1s that did not feature any seniors or DSA students. There were sixteen of us, of which six had come from ACS(I) and a similar number from Nan Hua. So when we were called to split ourselves into two teams, the predictability factor kicked in. When push came to shove, however, my team triumphed by three goals to one (we weren’t allowed to shoot, due to the fact that none of us had shin guards yet, so the only way to score was to dribble into either of the opponents’ two awkwardly narrow goals). Yours truly scored a poacher’s effort, walking the ball into the goal from about five inches out after a scramble.

Wednesday’s post-school hours were spent visiting the IB band (and Alex Oon). I’ll leave aside all the judgmental trash regarding the band’s playing standards, and instead thank the stars for the opportunity to see so many familiar faces over at my alma mater one more time. All of the bus ride home was literally spent talking and catching up with friends and whatnot. Gosh it seems I do really miss those fools.
