leave when faced with a loss
Posted in Uncategorized on March 30, 2008 by MeWow. Tomorrow marks the start of Term 2 Week 3. As I’ve mentioned many times before, time has indeed flown by since …. the start of 2007. Seriously. This thus means that mid year exams are around one month away (read: it’s time to start mugging major now).
On the plus side of things, I’ve managed to complete much of the previously-undone homework by today, Manchester United routed Aston Villa 4-0 and my DotA games have been more successful than not, largely due to the fact that on GGClient, there are so many poseur noobs.
Case in point, this morning someone entered a room I was hosting and immediately messaged me: “eh host 1v1″. My response was something like “wait for more ppl please”, but the moron kept insisting on taking me on solo. Being the nice, ever-obliging person I am, I agreed. Riiight. Bullshit aside, I did not want to withstand more whining from him, and seeing as he was the first person to enter the room after two or three minutes, the prospects of playing a full-scale game were slim to non-existent.
So it was 1v1. In the game window, I typed “-omapnp” and was considering what hero to pick, when the message came out that my opponent had chosen Morphling. I was thinking, “Shit, how the hell do I counter this bugger?”. Then I clicked on one of the taverns and eventually settled on Troll Warlord.
Without wanting to go into a full-length commentary with regards to the happenings of the game, the end result was a victory to me (he left when I was two or three levels higher than him and on a streak).
I hate leavers and noobs with inflated senses of self-worth.
